The start of our parody project followed the re-release of Taylor Swift’s Red Album. Paige and I both were listening to All Too Well on repeat and considered what it would be like if the two characters in the story were enemies instead of an ex-couple. The humor that comes from this shift changes the song from its original emotional tone to a more laughable one, like in the spirit of most parodies. I am most proud of the lyrics that Paige and I came up with for the parody. I like how we were able to make the flow similar to All Too Well while still having a dramatic shift in what the song really says. I think our lyrics were creative and didn’t lack the detail and storytelling-like format that Taylor Swift’s songs usually hold. I found learning to edit, mix and incorporate audio in ProTools a difficult process but a really interesting one. I have far more experience with video editing, so this process gave me a much higher level of respect for those who produce and edit music. I think that these skills will allow me to be more creative in my more visual projects because I will have the ability to incorporate audio of good quality into those projects.
